New war map speed

I don't understand the people who say the new war map seems "slow." Our alliance tends to breeze through it pretty quick. I guess if you are treating the new map like the old one and waiting to join until 6 or 8 hours left, maybe? Or, if you are totally reliant on using boosts and now can't clear your entire path in own boost, maybe? Although, with the much simpler tiles and defenders, boosting isn't as much of a concern anyway. Or maybe if you aren't putting three people on the edges early to unlook the middle? I am really curious bc I'm not seeing it.

    One discussion I had, some people went outside routes first. With them being the longest routes, yeah it'll take some time. However, there are a lot of overlapping nodes if it is planned right. I agree with @Run477 , my alliance is just over 12 hours into the war and at the boss. However, the amount of fights per session seems low. Every movement last war map would be a fight. Now, with portals, You're wasting 2-3 energy depending on enemy placement for 1 fight occasionally. At most I can see like 3-4 fights at once.

    We are one miniboss clear from boss being open also. And it's been like that every day. In old map, we would be struggljng to clear thorns the first night some days and sitting back waiting and waiting to see if paths clear before others could move, not to mention watching opponent movement so we could counter exploration.

    As much as I dislike the new scoring system and think the nodes are a too easy, I have enjoyed the fact that I don't have to sit on here half the day to watch for whether we need to take more tiles or revive for boss.

    In certain parts of the map you use 3 energy and only fight once.

    1. Move to a portal
    2. Use Portal
    3. Move to enemy node

    That's true @MikeHock But with the reduced timers, two movements in old map = 3 movements in new map. So, if there was an empty space to allow you to pick a path (which is effectively what a portal does) it would be the same number of hours of energy.

    Now, where it is different is being able to use a boost to fight one extra attacker in that regards when u max energy out waiting to take multiple tiles at once. But u can fix that by just moving up to your portal an hour later (or moving and taking the portal in a couple of hours then waiting).

    Again, I think it goes back to people treating this easy map similar to old war. You should assume both sides will 100% and just start moving. ifnnothing else, just clear everything early until path 5.

    I join AW as soon as it starts so I can move and get my timer going. I run the outside line, and am the first to move. I used a total of 11 energy at the start and only did 3 fights. So yes, I can move faster, and time builds up faster. The major drawback for me is that you can't get on, do 3 or 4 fights, then come back in 6/7 hours and do 3 or 4 more. If I move every three hours, I'm doing 1 fight. So yes, I get to the boss in the same amount of time it took me before (actually, for me a little longer because of which line I take now), but it's so much stop and go. That's the big problem for me. I want to be able to do stuff in chunks rather than the sporadic movement of this current setup.

    Looking at the war map, is your alliance not putting three people out there from the start? If you are running the whole left side solo or with only one other, then sure I could see it taking awhile. But the map is built for 3 on that line

    It's not until the final section where stuff really slows down bc u can only take one to the left unless the second is to backup the top mini.

    Well, I'm taking the left side and in the upper left corner; it takes 7+ hours to get to the boss from portal 5.

    It only take the same amount of time if you're logging in twice as much. You used to be able to clear most lanes in two sittings of 5 energy, fighting 5 times. Now you have to log in twice as much to fight half as many times. Garbage map is garbage.

    It seems a simple solution (not addressing everything but what is talked about here) is maybe increase total energy to 6 or 7?

    It really depends on teamwork, let's say you're going on the left path by yourself and take the longest path it'll take like 20+ energy and having to constantly check in.

    It's something ike
    Move, teleport, wait, fight, move, wait, teleport, wait, move, fight, move, wait, teleport, move, wait, fight, fight, fight, move, wait, telport, fight, move, fight it's a boring cycle

    Even if you don't take that side it still can take awhile, mostly due to portals costs and the waiting for alliance to take node down.

    In the old map like others have said you could clear the map in a few sittings, this map is to large, with energy costing portals that basically force you to wait an extra hour to fight an opponent and it's also a poorly desgined eyesore of a map.

    If want to make this work, redsign the map, add more defenders, add more attackers, cut the portal costs out.

    I agree portal costs should be cut out. Should be cut out in story/events also. It's stupid. If it was a fork, it would cost one energy unit. But bc you have to teleport between two empty tiles, it somehow costs two energy units. Portals are dumb. But I do like the ability to jump lines in the war map.
