New war map speed

I don't understand the people who say the new war map seems "slow." Our alliance tends to breeze through it pretty quick. I guess if you are treating the new map like the old one and waiting to join until 6 or 8 hours left, maybe? Or, if you are totally reliant on using boosts and now can't clear your entire path in own boost, maybe? Although, with the much simpler tiles and defenders, boosting isn't as much of a concern anyway. Or maybe if you aren't putting three people on the edges early to unlook the middle? I am really curious bc I'm not seeing it.

As much as I dislike the new scoring system and think the nodes are a too easy, I have enjoyed the fact that I don't have to sit on here half the day to watch for whether we need to take more tiles or revive for boss.
1. Move to a portal
2. Use Portal
3. Move to enemy node
Now, where it is different is being able to use a boost to fight one extra attacker in that regards when u max energy out waiting to take multiple tiles at once. But u can fix that by just moving up to your portal an hour later (or moving and taking the portal in a couple of hours then waiting).
Again, I think it goes back to people treating this easy map similar to old war. You should assume both sides will 100% and just start moving. ifnnothing else, just clear everything early until path 5.
Looking at the war map, is your alliance not putting three people out there from the start? If you are running the whole left side solo or with only one other, then sure I could see it taking awhile. But the map is built for 3 on that line

Move, teleport, wait, fight, move, wait, teleport, wait, move, fight, move, wait, teleport, move, wait, fight, fight, fight, move, wait, telport, fight, move, fight it's a boring cycle
Even if you don't take that side it still can take awhile, mostly due to portals costs and the waiting for alliance to take node down.
In the old map like others have said you could clear the map in a few sittings, this map is to large, with energy costing portals that basically force you to wait an extra hour to fight an opponent and it's also a poorly desgined eyesore of a map.
If want to make this work, redsign the map, add more defenders, add more attackers, cut the portal costs out.
I agree portal costs should be cut out. Should be cut out in story/events also. It's stupid. If it was a fork, it would cost one energy unit. But bc you have to teleport between two empty tiles, it somehow costs two energy units. Portals are dumb. But I do like the ability to jump lines in the war map.
