Does attacking or defending when launching SP3 make a difference?

Does it make any difference whether you're in an attacking och defending position when launching SP3? Do you get more power going into it if you're attacking when launching it?

    The only thing that can help is launching a Heavy immediately before launching the SP3 because you potentially get an opening after recovering from the SP3
