What’s with the map wide specials?

First Tigra and Hit Monkey did it. Then Dragon man. Now Apocalypse’s s2 is like a 9 dex cross map unblockable pilgrimmage. Why are specials turning into the 9 dex, run away, far far away, Tour de France?

I’m glad my champs are getting their steps in because I don’t want them putting on the corona 15. But maybe less is more?
