Daily Crystal 24hr v Daily Reset

Currently, the Daily Crystal (As well as the Uncollected Daily Crystal for us Uncollected) refreshes exactly 24 hours after you claim the previous one. That means every second, minute, hour, etc you delay in claiming, the next one will forever be offset by this delay, and onwards.
Instead, could this be made to simply reset at a fixed time each day, like with the the daily catalyst map resets, or when the calendar ticks over to the next day, or something? You would have 24 hours to claim it, and if you fail to claim it for the day, you miss out on that one, so you still have to log in daily to claim it, and you still can't claim more than 1 per 24 hour period.
