I just now have completed act 5.3, it turned out much easier than I had expected to be. My newly buffed 5* R3 red magneto is probably my MVP with my 4* r4 magik and 5* r4 torch being my second picks for MVP. Before I head into 5.4 what should I be looking out for, and what should I be prepared for?

I think some of the bosses were tough, but just prepare and you'll be ok

I mean most of the bosses are metal so unless there’s a node preventing me from parrying I should be able to take em with mags. As for the Mephisto I can take him with a flame on torch.
