People need to stop judging characters and content before seeing them in game

I honestly don't understand why people keep doing this. So many people under the Apocalypse deep dive and in the forums were going on about how disappointed they are and how he's going to suck. Well now that the CCP videos are out we can see he actually can hit really hard, has a ton of utility and probably the best synergies in the entire game. It just leads to so much unnecessary negativity and it happens frequently.

Of course it's okay to judge and analyze content coming into the game but a very vocal group of players seem to make up their minds before ever having all the information necessary to form a complete opinion. Oh the rewards are terrible, well turns out the content is pretty easy and so the rewards are good for the time invested. This character is going to be crazy god tier, oh he's actually only above average, we're disappointed so they're complete trash. I'm not saying people shouldn't voice their opinions or concerns just that they should try to keep their expectations open.

Yeah you got me, Nick Fury, Heimdall and Apocalypse are the top three but in overall usage Heimdall probably has more applications. I said Apocalypse might be the best because he elevates many champions to a whole different level while the other 2 have synergies that are more for general utility albeit very very strong pieces of utility.

Vast majority of the playerbase can't even decide if a champ is good until a YouTuber they like tells them so. Expecting them to be rational and decide for themselves once actual information is available is far too big of an ask

The deep dive video is nothing but a hype video. In a way, the CCP do that as well. I still don't have all the information because I don't know what it takes to get his utility to where it is. For example, Prof X has some serious potential, but you need to slog through 2 brutal fights first or sacrifice 2 champions to get him to his elite status. How viable is that in content and how will that affect his stock? Time will tell. The same applies to apocalypse.

I do agree with the sentiment overall though.

I'm not saying at all he's automatically going to be good, I'm just saying with objective information we have now he is better than what the people who said he would suck thought he would be. Is there still things we need to see in game widely tested, of course. Does he rely on synergies for his damage, also yes. That being said now we have actual gameplay of him, no suicides, unboosted at rank 2 as a 6 star or 5 star rank 5 equivalent in end game content like at six and he performs pretty well. We know his performance is enhanced by having a full team of mutants and the cable synergy to get him ramped right away. Most avenues have been covered, do we know what he hits like without synergies. No and it's probably pretty weak but hey lots of champion get a large benefit from synergies and Apocalypses synergy partners are extremely strong being literally just as many mutants as possible and cable who is now end game content viable. Time will tell if he is as good as the CCP videos show him as but even setting the bar at the bare minimum it's unquestionable people hated on him too quickly

i generally form my own opinions about champs after i play with them. hence the reason i probably rank up champs that most people don't. i mean i like who i like ya know.

So let me get this clear op:

1) you complain about people judging characters before they play them

2) you base that opinion on one forum thread (the "Apocalypse is a DUD" one)

3) you take youtube videos as good enough source of information to make judgements based on them

4) despite the first point, you use terms such as "god tier", that are directly copied from tierlists, that are crystallized form of directly copying someone's opinion only because the person is a ytber

The community is often wrong, and admittedly I thought Apocalypse is going to be weak when I first read his spotlight. I thought him to be another Heimdall - great synergies but weak.

Well couple weeks passed and from videos he looks better than I thought. I still keep in mind 2 things tho:

1) his persistent charges need either synergy or 4 won fights, which is insanely much imo. The synergy solves this problem tho

2) CCP people often put him in good synergy teams (ideally full mutant), which is how he is meant to be played, but not always can I afford one class team
