But he can't cause cause his ability accuracy can't be lowered
critical failure has nothing to do with AAR, all it means is a trigger did not activate, in a normal case that could be because of AAR OR because you did not roll high enough on an ability even without AAR. For instance after an SP2 he has a 25% chance to trigger a miss on incoming attacks, that would fail about 75% of the times triggering a critical fail.

You should prolly test that before saying such things. Failing to trigger miss does not trigger critical failure.

It was really an example to show the difference between crit failure and AAR

Yeah but when someone tries to evidence your example in practice they find Mysterio does not crit fail in that circumstance and subsequently dismiss the entire explanation.

Decided to check it out by myself. I’ve run a couple of duels with a 6* R2 and a 5* R1 Mysterio. Tried sp1, sp2, parries, different combos, and no crit failure here. Are you facing some specific node? At least from a straightforward match, I didn’t manage to find the problem you are talking about.
I had a thought, it could be the hiemdall hela synergy, it is a trigger but will not trigger but at a certain threshold, but I dont know where a domino is to test against in content

That's neat. But why not? My sparky takes crit failure in each blocked hit because he didn't evade.
Reasons!
Could be because not everything that should trigger crit fail triggers crit fail. Could be because miss is treated as an ability of the opponent. Could be because Kabam didn’t want it to. Could be an oversight.
I’d lean towards it being an ability placed on the opponent because that’s how Falter works.

There is a domino in 6.4.2 as the first fight on the long distance relationship path.

thank you, I just did that fight with mysterio, and zero critical fails. I wil state it is odd that the stun failing to triggers on her medium does not trigger critical fail.
I think we need more information including nodes at this point.

It would be odd if the stun actually failed on her medium since that is a result of AAR.
If you used any ability with less than 100% trigger chance (e.g sp2 miss) you can still crit fail, though unless you used sp2 or there’s another factor from a node he shouldn’t crit fail because everything has 100% chance and he’s aar immune

Have you heard the one about how the sp2 miss doesn’t trigger crit failure?
look you need to show evidence of it, because it is not happening when others try it.
You need to show your team and a video, as well as masteries if you want to get to the bottom of it.
As to what Coathang3r said if you had night thrasher it could be because of
MINE CAN HOVER – with Night Thrasher (2* and higher) When dashing forward Mysterio has 70% chance to inflict the Opponent with Falter for the duration of the dash. Opponents suffering Falter have a 100% chance to Miss their attacks. Solo Synergy: Only affects Mysterio and does not stack.

And read domino's sig ability.

All of mysterio's ability is 100% chance to trigger plus he's immune to aar
So none of his abilities should ever fail
