Symbiote Supreme doesn't bleed correctly!?

My Symbiote Supreme is not bleeding the opponent right as the Set's Fangs blessing starts, sometimes he bleeds at the end of this phase and sometimes he doesn't at all. Anyone else facing this issue or is there something I'm missing about him? I don't know since when it was happening because i recently came to know about this ability but i've been using him since a year now

    iirc he needs genetic potential to inflict bleed. It can’t be at zero
