Just a quick Question about Namor

SazedSazed Posts: 304 ★★
What is his signature ability mean? I have a 5* unawakened Namor, but a 3* awakened version. I don't quite get what it's saying and what it does. Any clarification would be helpful

While he's attacking someone (let's say Korg .. or a champ that's on a Thorns node) .. all of that damage he gets while attacking is reduced and the damage that is such gets sent back to the defender. so he basically takes less damage from those nodes and champs who have reverb type of damage.

His sig ability essentially means he can’t take any damage whilst attacking the opponent, and any damage he would have taken is reflected onto the opponent. For example:

If your namor has an incinerate debuff on him, when you attack the opponent that debuff won’t do any damage to namor, and the damage it would have done is reflected onto the opponent.

Oh that makes sense. Thanks. How does this work with DoT debuffs? Does it trigger at all?

Essentially, while you are dashing forward, throwing a special attack, or hitting the opponent (either an actual hit, or hitting into their block) any kind of damage that would impact your health does no damage to you and in fact damages the opponent. The most common examples are if you have suicide masteries, or any damage over time debuff dealing, for example, 100 damage per second to Namor, while you attack the opponent, Namor still has a debuff on him but the 100 damage per second will be dealt in little red numbers next to your attack to the opponent. This can counted damage over time debuffs, passive degeneration, korg's passive damage, electro's passive damage, and much more. The percentage represented by the sig ability represents that percentage of damage that you would be taking that is dealt back to the opponent.

it doesn't stop anything from triggering. it just stops or reduces the damage from them when Namor is attacking.

Lets say you are running suicides. Any damage you would take while attacking an opponent from those dots would be redirected to the opponent, it works the same way. It allows you to gain life from willpower without taking the suicide damage, but only while actively attacking. It will not work with recoil though, as that happens after the pause.

When Namor is attacking, he reflects a certain percentage of damage he would be taking from any source (including Damage Over Time) back at the opponent. When he hits max sig (Sig 200 for 5*/6*, Sig 99 for less), that percentage is 100%, so he takes 0 damage while he is attacking his opponent and instead sends that damage to them. This is one of the most unique sig abilities, IMO, and is why he is uniquely useful for certain situations. For example, things like Electro's electroshock damage or Korg's Thorn damage, a max-sig Namor won't take that damage and instead dish it out to the opponent.

Hope that helps. Basically, awaken him and get him to max sig ASAP.
