My first ever ISO Hard Crash

I just booted up MCOC after the update, and it hard crashed my device. Screen went black, a little circle appears in the middle. Nothing is responsive, not even the power button.
I have owned this Ipad for 2 years, and this is this first time ANY app has caused a hard crash on the device. Frankly, I didn't even know it was possible. For any other games, if it crashed it would just go back to your home screen. I had to look up online how to do a hard reset (apparently you hold down the power and home button until it powers off).
I didn't think the crashing problems can get worse, but here we are. This really needs to be addressed.
