I'll answer as simply as you asked. Yes.

    Does he need sigs?

It's one of those nice-to-have signatures. Not needed for him to be great, as opposed to someone like Mojo or Voodoo.

The more sigs the better, it all scales up pretty nicely. But they're not needed. His whole sig ability is just really nice to have. There aren't many better Mystic options.

Honestly, you will notice that almost no mystic champ necessarily need to be awakened.

No offense, but I do not like Voodoo. He just does not seem that great, especially for a mystic gem. Can you please explain what makes him so amazing? I use him and he seems underwhelming.

Very strong AAR, energy resistance, extremely strong regen, blanket nullifies on Sp1's combined with the fact that he gives them buffs and stacks poison per buff nullified, and strong power control. But you've gotta know how to utilize his awakens ability or you won't be seeing much from him.

    Is yours awakened?

But nevertheless, the awakening gives him 100% increased AAR and some buff duration on one side. The increased AAR affects the effects from his specials (among other things). Normally, he had a 50% chance to convert all loas to poison on his SP 1. The 100% ability accuracy makes it 100% chance on an even combo. On his SP 2, he has a 50% chance to get some power control stuff up to 3. With this power control buffs, he has a 50% chance to power burn per hit. With the sig, it's a 100% chance to get the buffs, 100% chance to power burn per hit, and the buff duration is increased.

On odd combo, he does things like that similarly and conversely. This is assuming normal conditions, and there's a lot of other factors involved.

@Hammerbro_64 has a great understanding of voodoo and made me value mine more

Yes definitely. Tbh I see Voodoo as one of if not the most versatile mystic. He power controls, has AA manipulation, nullifies, and more!

So basically, he has two modes, with bro Daniel and without. I’ll just call it green and red since that’s the color of them. If it’s a poisonable buff heavy fight, L1 green all day. Power control fights, L2 green to control and burn his power for an attack boost. For evasion fights or stuff like Juggs or the Champion, switch to red on and you half their ability accuracy. His debuffs also last a lot longer in red, making evasion and autoblock fights even easier because your parry lasts an entire 5-hit combo. If it’s not evasion or autoblock, you can chain a 4 hit and 5 hit combo.

If it’s a long fight, do and L3 green and you will get a constant power gain for a good while, so you can cycle L1 and L2 to maximize control+damage, then shoot an L3 again to restart your power gain.

What I do in normal medium fights is build to green L2, green L1, L1 L2 and sort of play around with the power gained from MD of the expiring loas.

For the most part, you will be in green since it doubles your ability accuracy, but certain situations you want red. Watch your combo and get used to doing the right number of hits in a combo if you want to use a lower level special.

This little write-up was from like 2018 and I still feel it generally holds true. Rockypantherx has pointed out that he can do both buffed up and diss track with his L2 (and L1 poison ig). And remember all this fancy good stuff is mostly made possible by his awakened ability that increases AA and buff duration or decreases enemy AA and increases debuff duration. His regen at the start of the fight is pretty handy for obvious reasons (especially iceman and 60sec bleed/poison nodes). Personally I am going to use a generic from LoL 100% on him. I heavily used him as a 4* back in the day and am excited to have a true power controller on my lineup (since most of my "power controllers" are champs like Void and Sparky who have pseudo-power control). I would definitely recommend giving him a try. He doesn't have big yellow numbers but he is very reliable and can be used in probably 90% of content.

    He's a mystic I've been chasing for a while now. I'll take even a 4*

yes i would be using one of my 3 mystic awakening gem on Dragon man. But not until the current 5 star featured crystal is over. cause I'm still searching and hunting for Prof X, so if along the way if i get to dupe Dragon man naturally then i'm all set.

I used my only mystic AG on DM, and I possibly regret that. I’m looking at SorcSup and Sasquatch that I would like to awaken. On the other hand, none of these 3 actually need it. DM is fun, and it makes him feel complete. Maybe at high sig, the ability would actually be useful.
