Venom worth cosmic gem?

I currently have my 5* venom at r3, almost r4, and I was wondering if he’s worth a cosmic awakening gem. I have two, and venom atm is probably my best cosmic.

Yes.
He doesn't NEED it necessarily but it helps.
It can help if you're needing a certain buff e.g against Havok. Unduped he has 1 buff, 1 chance at armour. Awakened he has 3 chances. Sometimes it sucks though, if you roll a meh buff then good ones, you can't reset the bad one.
But he also gains more attack per buff. So if you wait till he has all his buffs and launch sp3 that should do pretty decent damage.

I was very close to using a generic. I wouldn't say he's worth that for most, but in my case, he was.

Sorry I wrote that wrong. He gains up to +20% potency on the buffs, not extra attack rating. Sig 26 ish only gives him +6% potency and almost 40% to roll a third buff. Sig 1 gives him almost 35%
I guess it comes down to whether you like Venom. If you use him, give him Gem. I'd give him sigs only if you intended to r5 him, but I think someone like CMM may benefit more from extra levels.
