1. It is not permanent content, but still relevant content that players have incentive (really great rewards) to play through and challenge themselves against (aka, it is not like it will be around forever in its current state).
2. They have seven different versions of the node with seven different maps so that if either the champion encounters, the specific Root node, or the combination of the two are too difficult for your roster or level of ability, you can simply save up entry tickets and use them all on what you find to be the easiest day for you.
3. I get that a new ability such as Root may be difficult to master in a short time, but with the wealth of information you have from Forum posts to Youtube walkthroughs explaining every node in detail and the best champions/teams to counter them makes saying things like "it was pretty hard to understand" and "maybe one day we will learn this and want this" pretty difficult to agree with. It really just makes it seem like you don't want to put in the hard work to master this new mechanic.
4. "Currently we don't need this" makes it sound like we ever really "need" any cool new game mechanic. If Kabam did not bring new challenges into the game, then it would cease to be fun. Simple as that.
5. They never said that the current Root nodes will be ones that they will continue to use in the future, but this can just be seen as beta testing for a huge new mechanic introduction that every Summoner can try out for themselves instead of having to make whatever cutoff requirements that they could have put on it. This lets every Summoner give them feedback on how they can make it even better in the future.
6. Side quests are super optional. With how many different areas of content there are in this game, if you don't like them or don't understand them, or just don't want to bother, you have plenty of other things to occupy your energy in game and irl.
Not trying to attack you OP, I do understand the frustration with these nodes because they are definitely something we have not seen the like of before, but I do disagree on how Kabam should deal with Root going forward. On the bright side, I really doubt they will add Root into every side quest from now on. I'm sure next month will look very different.
Happy Summoning,
