I mean... If i encounter a 100% poison node with enhanced poison and heal block on an immortal abomination in act 7 or 8 or whatever, I'm gonna use Abomination, not Doom. It all depends on the champs and nodes rather than "who's the newest shiny champ"
Very few of the newer champs have been anywhere near as good as Void anyway. I doubt one day I'll be taking Mole Man into quests over Void bc Void is old.

I definitely disagree with this. In your mind the “meta” is whoever you have that’s new and you play. Very few people have all those new champions and most don’t care. People play who they enjoy at the end of the day and that’s that.
The whole point of champs poem void is for certain circumstances.
This is why have diversity of roster matters - see a fight that needs void and u got him On bench to bring in. It is principle of what act 6 (and hopefully act 7) was built on. Needing lots of champs to cover all Paths even if hits for 1/2 fights
