Changing alliances after the season/gifting event

Will I be able to change alliances after Alliance War season rewards and still be able to participate in the gifting even with my new alliance?
The in-game mail said 14 days with your alliance in order to participate but the season ends with 13 days before the gifting event. @Kabam Miike can you provide clarification please? I apologize if there is already a thread about this.
