Not necessary. As far as you can access his utility to counter evade, autoblock and miss which his awakening can provide, you're okay. Furthermore, his internal bleed can increase the duration of his other bleeds anyway.
Unless you have 100 stones to drop into Aegon, do nick. In a quest, once all my champs are dead, I know if I throw a 20% revive at him he’ll be in his DAMAGE phase and give me MAX DAMAGE output from that one resource. He’s really worth awakening just for the benefit you get from a 20% revive (lvl 1 revive) and the damage you can drop in such a short timespan in a quest
