Assistance Needed: How do we play Alliance Wars?

Hey Kabam. We are three 8-9M alliances base in Asia. Previously in the old war system when we run into much bigger alliances, we place our best defenders in strategic spots hoping to prevent them from 100% exploring our battle groups while in attack, we rely on a mixture of skills and potions to 100% theirs. What I am trying to say is that there is still a chance for us to win if we really try hard enough and being an alliance with good leaders, we have managed to educate our members to take up the right defensive heroes to 5/50 or 4/55 to cope with AW.
With this current AW, we are not able to be all fielding the same defenders we use to field because everyone wants the max 150 defender diversity points. This part we understand. You don't want to give us rank down tickets so it will probably take us a year or two to fully form a new defensive team but we won't do that because we have no idea whether you will shift the goal posts again. Hence what happens now is we field 3/30s and 4/40s just for the sake of maxing out that defender diversity awards.
From what we've seen and encounter, the majority of alliances around Tier 1-3 won't have issues 100% exploring all 3 battle groups. The not so skilled ones may need a potion or two but its hardly an issue. We appreciate the fact that you have removed the BS nodes and make fights more manageable. We appreciate that we can now engage in more fights without having to wait hours for a busy team mate to come online.
But here is the question. If both us and our opponents are 100% exploring all the battle groups and have our defender diversity maxed out at 150, how are we suppose to be challenging a much bigger alliance? One of our alliances ran into the top Turkish alliance 2 days back. 9M alliance vs 16.8M alliance. Can Kabam advice us how to play this one?
Do we pray that this top alliance would mess up their defender diversity placement? Or do we simply roll over and surrender? What does mid tier alliances like us who have spend so much time, effort and money to move up the tiers in AW do now since there is no way we stand a chance against these alliances with a much higher defender rating than us?
What is Kabam's advice? We get that the system was done with good intentions. We see the good intentions. But surely you need to give skilled alliances a fighting chance in war rather than just wave the white flag or pray to god that our much stronger opponents mess up their placement. We want to have a say in the outcome of the war since we are participating in it. Tell us what we can do.
