How to Improve Contest of Champions! [Trade concept]

Hello Summoners! This forum aims to talk about how to make Contest of Champions better. Now I know Contest is already really fun and highly addictive, however, it is not without flaws.

Energy

Since 2014, when I started playing, I always hated Energy. It was such a nuisance to deal with. However, I like to play both sides. Let's take a look at it from Kabam's perspective. Kabam at the end of the day is a company, most likely with two main objectives. To keep the player's interest in the game high, and to turn a profit. The current energy system promotes the monetary motive, however completely kills the player's interest. With the current energy system, you can earn a max of 240 energy a day in perfect conditions. Perfect conditions being that your energy is never full, so it has a charge time and can go up, and not sleeping. When quests take 3 energy per tile, with 240 energy max in a day, that is only 80 spaces you're able to move in a 24 hour period at perfect conditions. You may purchase energy refills to refill your energy, however, this is a burden. I see the current energy system as an angry mother forcing you to get off the game, except you can't sneak on and play more. You have to wait 18 minutes to be able to move another space in a 3 per tile quest. Up until this point, I've just talked about the problem and not my solution. My solution is very simple. In the game, it is possible to boost your champions and your profile as a whole with boosts. Here is my solution.

I highly doubt I need to explain this, but I will! This would work very similar to the XP +50 boost, it lasts 12 hours and boosts EXP gain for that duration. However, this would make the Energy regeneration time 3 minutes per energy rather than the 6 minute. And since this could last for any duration and still help, I think this is a very needed fix for the game.

Trading

Woah Woah Woah! Hold your horses, please. There has been a ton of controversy over the idea of trade, however, there is a proper way to do it in my opinion. A ton of people are worried about scammers, people begging, ect. With my ideology on the trade situation, I think I found a perfect middle ground.

To prevent scamming, the trade would work in ways of requests, rather than live. This way, people can trade while the other party is offline. I am no visual effect genius, but I have worked out a prototype of how trading would work, please take a look.

This showcases the trade button and interface. You'd only be able to trade with someone if they are either your friend or in your alliance and the trade has a similar Power Index swap on both sides. This prevents people trading one stars and four stars from alternate accounts and elimnates scammers.

This next showcase shows how the request would work. It would work almost like a Gift Notification.

With these precautions in effect, it would be really hard to scam people and turn a victor in a trade. Trades should be even and fair amongst both parties. This also wouldn't affect the economy too much since it is most of the time going to be a 1:1 ratio of PI exchange.

Alliances

Now I only have one complaint about alliances. Alliances still don't have emblems. Alliances have had emblems in the "coming soon" stage for a long time. Honestly, this could give alliances so much more traction. I mean look at it!

No hard feelings to Kabam, and if anyone from Kabam is reading this, Thank you for this game. It's given me a chance to grow my name and meet a ton of people. No hard feelings!     Trading will never happen. Start a new account, grind arena beginner bracket for easy 4*, trade with yourself, too exploitable. Your post is awesome though. I've long wished for energy boosts myself. Now if they worked in AQ you'd have a goldmine. A+ for presentation!!

    The trade would be close in power index, so you'd have to trade a four-star for around the same power index. Thank you for the A+, and that you thought of the energy too!

    The problem with trading is not that people don't want to haggle. The problem is that it is a very exploitable option to have in any game.

    You get issues like people selling characters online for example. Say someone posts that if you pay them 15 dollars they will trade you a Quake for your Iron Patriot. Do you even want that kind of thing happening in MCoC? To make matters worse this also leads to legal issues where sometimes the other party takes the money and runs.

    Beyond that, as others have pointed out, it encourages people to have many multiple accounts which they then start creating for no other reason than to character farm using the new account increased drops and arena brackets. Creating a dozen smurf accounts to trade champions to their main account is also not something that Kabam should promote.

    The way the game is set up requires you to farm these things yourself. Any form of trading, even for catalysts, leads to a degeneration of that system.

    I'm certainly not against new features, but I don't believe trading should be one of them. It causes a lot of issues and has very few positives.

    Trading could only be exploited if there weren't limits on it. For example, if both parties had to trade a champion of around the same PI, being level locked to level 20, and both sides having to give a champion. It could still be exploited as many systems are, however, it would have to lead to more creative exploiting than a simple smurf account.

    It should be more like 50% reduction in energy timer

    You can buy an energy refill for 30 units. And thats what the energy reduction was.

    Dude I love the way you post lol, it's awesome. But I disagree with that champ trading, maybe another trade like with catalysts, well kabam has already said they'll bring in trading for allaince members or something like that with catalysts. I agree with energy a bit, I feel like the time should be reduced to atleast 5 min per energy. The emblems, sure, don't know why it hasn't been put in yet, looks like they've forgotten, but maybe they're waiting to put bases in first. Thumbs up from me tho, very awesome way of posting.

    Thank you for the comment of the post style. I put a lot of effort into my posts so they stand out! In regards to energy, any change will definitely help the players stay interested as long as the change is a down scale from 6 to less than 6. Emblems and bases have definitely taken a back seat, and I can see why, they're very busy with a lot of features to maintain and new champs.

    Well written and constructed post. Kudos on that. Ixnay on the radingtay though. It won't work in any form. Love the idea of reduced energy though. Really wish Kabam can do something similar to the reduced Act 4 costs they did recently. Kudos again.

    You could lock trading to only similar rank champions. So a rank 1 4* for a rank 1 4*. If one is awakened, the other must alsoc. However, I think they'd need to make 5*s completely unable to be traded, to avoid farming champs through alts to build prestige on a different account.

    Would also be cool if you could trade a champ for a champ you already had to make a dupe.

    Maybe there could be a marketplace instead where you can find people who have a champ they want to trade. They can put theirs under what they would like in exchange and if you have that champ, you can offer it. Then the system will automatically swap them, like for like. It would show in your inbox like a gift as outlined in the original post.

    Maybe such a system would also help the team pinpoint what the community views as undesirable champs and decide to buff them.

    Rank and PI do not matter. I can make my Luke Cage close enough to my alt account's Mephisto for the trade to happen. I can level to 40 in a day or two. It's not going to happen. Sorry.

    Thank you for agreeing with the Trade System I proposed. Any system can be exploited, however it will be harder with those systems in place.

    Well it wouldn't be a complete loss or win, you're still giving up a champion, and gaining a champion. I agree Mephisto and LC are completely different, but it is also against TOS to have an alternate, so theoretically that would be impossible.

    It is not against the TOS to have multiple accounts. It's against it for multiple people to use one account.
