We all have a different love for this game. Some of us love the gameplay. Some of us love the animations. Some of us understand why we love it, while others can’t wrap their minds around what keeps them logging in everyday. Some people call this an addiction.
Perhaps, a gaming addiction is the case. This is a real world problem for some people. Others think it’s the gambling that brings us back. But for 99% of us, I don’t think this is the case. So what is it? Let’s dive into it…
As children, all us Marvel fans probably collected our favorite action figures. Me, I was more of a Transformers kid than a Marvel kid. But it’s the same concept. I would often beg my mom to buy me an Optimus Prime or Bumblebee toy. Or, I would save my money & try to buy one myself. After which, I would play for hours in my room with them. And then, I would want to buy more of them. Eventually, I would grow to have little collection going. But… we obviously all grew out of that stage.
As adults, we desire more than figurines to play with. We have more complex minds, & therefore require more complex things to keep us entertained. I think, for most of us, that’s exactly what MCOC is. As adults we upgrade from things like action figures, to things like MCOC. That’s why people spend cash on this game. People buying characters in this game are just like people buying things like costumes & Funko Pops.
I think what MCOC does is not bring the comics to life, but our imaginations to life. Controlling our characters on screen is like controlling our characters when we were kids playing with action figures. Only now, it’s even better. Because now it’s like our action figures have come to life & have a whole set of abilities, from Daredevil seeing invisibility to Apocalypse making any Mutant his Horseman, not to mention countless synergies. And our collection is just getting bigger & bigger. This is why I’ve never got much into games with an aerial view, because it doesn’t have the same feeling it does as I was a child, like this game feels.
I think that for this reason, the biggest problem in this game is that we can’t choose what character we get. As kids, we could save all our money & buy whatever character we wanted at Wal-Mart. Now, it’s a roulette system. I think this is why many, if not most people quit playing, because they never get that character they truly love the most. I understand guaranteeing a champion would break the fundamentals of the game, but it doesn’t change the fact. However, Kabam is solving this issue soon with a “Wish Crystal”. I think this will solve a lot of the issues & frustration people get with this game. Because it’s not just about not having a champion to do Labyrinth, it’s about not being able to play your favorite character you’ve loved since you were a kid. I think with the Wish Crystal, there will be a balance of both gaming RNG & a true love & passion to collect the character you love.
In summary, I think we spend on this game to collect, collect in this game to play & play in this game because we all have that inner child in us that just wants to play Captain America against everyone else… (or whoever you like playing the most).
Anyways, this is why I appreciate MCOC. Why do you??

It’s also helped that I’ve met a great group of people in an alliance that I’ve been with for over two years now and have met many in person!
Weapon Omega is team im working on now. This team melts opponents. Almost at full strength, but really want a 5 or 6 star Sabertooth.
