Featured is established when?

Looked for the answer, any idea WHEN the characters it picks from is established? I.e. if I buy one now does it select from the featured
Now or IF I save it will it select it from the featured champions available when I open it? Thanks.

    No. If a featured crystal is in your stash the champs in it when you got/purchased it will say in there
