Red Goblin unbiased review after being 6* R2

So, I won’t go through the mechanics, but I’ll explain where his mechanics failed or succeeded.
First thing is first I understand that my damage could be better if I had him duped. I am focusing on his practical use, his signature ability is kinda irrelevant to what I’m discussing.
So I took him into variant 6 . I have to say that he does some great damage , but it’s way too late into the quest , to benefit from it. Example , I really needed to take out an IMIW and a Modok, both of those fights didn’t feel safe for awhile and the modok fight took even longer because it was one of his first fights ( his miss and auto block prevention)
He does get armor breaks on heavy attack so it was nice for some cheese but venom and doom does it better memory consistently because it has a 65% reduction in duration.
His block prof didn’t seem the greatest ( needed to power control)
The power drain although appears to be good you still don’t feel like you have control. ( energize buff)
The damage when frenzy is up was very nice , and those armor breaks and the incinerates worked very well.
When questing with him In act 7 , again, I felt that it was too long to get into the quest and to access his utility.
Although his energize (power increase buff) is suppose to help you get to your SP2 and SP3 faster it doesn’t seem powerful enough to make a huge difference between baiting specials etc, this means mid way through your special you can lose your energize buff and accidentally push to a L3.
My entire philosophy on the game is figuring out utility over damage, I didn’t feel that he had the support I needed to get me in and out of fights successfully.
I would compare him to morning star. Except less utility.
I don’t see this champ on my team anywhere on my roster because I have a venom, if I didn’t have a venom I think I would probably opt to use venom the duck , who feels way more rewarding then RG. Because it takes two fights to get your buffs. After that you can roll.
The fights felt long and unrewarding when you do an SP2 and they don’t die so you have to start over.
The only thing I enjoyed from him was the animations made the fight fun and seeing some of that big damage.
I can tell you have I played him for over 72 hours or so so I can answer any questions anyone may have.
Cheers! Sorry for it being so long .

But I also value utility significantly over damage, and I just don’t think he does anything well enough or quickly enough to be viable. He can do a good amount of things, I just don’t see any reason to use him for these things
I honestly, think punisher 99 offers similar packages to him and is a lot better . I think I’m going to do more of these because I do a lot of testing and think people who prefer utility over damage can find these helpful
SP1 Light attack
SP3 heavy attack
SP2 medium attack.
This was the rotation I used almost the entire time.
