My MROC Feedback

Hello all! I’ve been playing MROC since it launched (wasn’t on the beta) and I thought I’d share my thoughts on the game. Since release, I have consistently spent 1-4 hrs per day on the game.
Overall thoughts: I really like this game! After the first few hours, you can tell that this is a grindy game, since you need to buildup BR through wins (and losses up until a certain point). I think that’s kinda cool. If I had to summarize MROC, I would say that it’s a “better done Brawl Stars". And I love that! It’s great that you can play with Marvel Characters that you know and lesser known characters. My favorite would have to be sorcerer because I love playing support and trying to go deathless the whole match! Gear is cool too! I’ve seen a lot if negative gear feedback, but I haven’t played many gear games so I wouldn’t know what a “good" and “bad" gear system looks like. Gear is definitely hard to come by though.
Graphics are…. Good… ish. It’s complicated. It’s definitely not what I would’ve expected considering how the cinematic trailers looked like. I experience constant lag on my Galaxy A50. In a game where every second counts, that really sucks. I do like character design though. Only thing I don’t like is that they are so damn tiny on the battlefield and that I can barely see my character and the icons.
Positive Feedback:
Game modes. Really creative! I think that stronghold (defend the safe) is really fun, but repetitive. Deathmatch is really fun, especially with a great teammate! Arena Conquest is really fun! Total BR milestones have been really important for me, so I’ve spent most of my time in there, farming BR (currently at 2.2k total at the time at this writing). Onslaught is also really good.
In fact, objectives are very well done! They kinda keep pushing you forward even if you only to the bare minimum daily and that’s really cool.
Gear customization is something I’m a big fan of. I love the gear synergies and the fact that you can collect the full set over time.
Additional features. Like the search features and other stuff. They weren’t even necessary, but it’s great that they are already in game! Leaderboards and such are coming next year, so that’s great!
Overall, the idea of most of the stuff is great and I really look forward to seeing them build on it!
Negative Feedback:
Navigation. It feels so… awkward. Champion navigation is weird and so is the layout. But that’s a simple fix.
Delay. I’ll admit, I don’t have the latest and greatest phone, but the delay and lag is insane. It seems like everywhere I go, there is constant delay on top of the in-game loading. Combat lag is annoying also.
Resources. Can someone explain to me why I have like 4x more t2b than t1b? Why iso is so extraordinarily painful to come by and spend on 1 champ, let alone 6? Resource scarity is so common and so irritating. Units are so extremely useless after the initial 3 champs. I’m sitting on 935 right now that are collecting dust. The value of items in store is terrible. Iso and gold has decent value. 850 units for 3-Star gear? Huh? If gear had hard value, that would be great. However, I’ve already scrapped a handful of 3-Star gear because the stats are completely useless. The gold from scrapping is better than staring at it in my inventory.
Matchmaking. The biggest turnoff for me by miles and let me explain why. As I mentioned before, I spend a lot of time playing arena conquest. Over time, the BR you get from losing slowly dwindles from +6 all the way down to the negatives. That’s fine. Unfortunately, I find myself going on lose streaks simply because my teammates are beyond terrible. Hulks that try to solo entire teams by themselves. Sorcerers that pop heals when everyone is at full health. Iron Legionnaires that think that they can beat Black Panther in a close range battle. Storms and Spider-Men that think the same. AFKs. People that try to rush the safe with 0 backup for no reason. Hulks that do the sane without even attempting to go unstoppable. The list goes on. I’m not even that great at the game yet, but these are basic things. And there’s not even much that can even be done here.
At a certain point, it feels like I’m forced to play with a pre-made party. There’s also the CONSTANT praying that you get matched up with a competent support. Speaking of support, I literally cannot run my sorcerer with randoms. I’ve gotten her to about 600 BR where you lose BR when losing a match. And even though she’s my favorite and I’d love to run support decently, I can’t.
Acquisition of Captain America. The first additional champ of the game. Upon release, he was available for 10 dollars. Fine. Actually, great! There is no RNG when you buy him. You just get the character. However, the objective system behind him is terrible. Let me clarify. The idea is great. However, the problem with them ties to the previous point. Onslaught matchmaking is horrific. You can match with just about anyone. Anyone. 150 BR Iron Legionnaires with horrible gear are commonplace. It sucks. To even get to that 15th zone, you either have to have a pre made party or spam matches are pray you get some good teammates. That gets boring. Fast.
Alliances. Not even bad, just absolutely useless. I know that they are planning to make allies better. However, I don’t even think they were necessary. Maybe to get a jump start on getting a solid 12. But that’s about it. Currently, all you can do is kick people and make them leader. I don’t even think you can invite people to a party from your ally!
Overall, MROC is great. The reason that the amount of negative is so large is that there are a small amount of big issues. Things part of the core of the game like matchmaking and gear. The initial response to MROC was pretty bad from what I’ve seen. However, I’ll be sticking it out!

Seatin has a few vids on another Kabam game named Disney Mirrorverse, which is not in global release yet. That game is how Realms should be, and has several features that Contest should have. Combat is truly 3-D immersive. When you open crystals for heroes, if you get a duplicate hero, they convert to shards and add to the base hero. No more having the same character at 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 *. One character that gets levelled and ranked. Brilliant!
