Why can’t I pick my rank up gem?

Kabam,
I was wondering why I am unable to choose the rank up gem I want for a particular upgrade? For example, nebula R3 going to R4, I’d like to use my overflowing 2017 generic rank up instead of my only one tech rank up gem, but the system does not let me, unless I am to dumb to figure it out...

    The only solution to this right now is contacting support and they should be able to fix it for you.
