Question about different types of hits/attacks

These few questions are on my mind for quite a while, so if you guys can answer, all I can say is Huge Thank You!!!

Q No. 1: I think there are only three types of hits/attacks i.e. contact/physical, energy, projectile. Is that right? or am I missing something?
Q No. 2: Are both energy hits and projectile count as non contact hits?
Q No. 3: Can energy hits be parried like physical hits?
Q No. 4: Some champions like Guardian, Proxima Midnight, Ronin (in Guard Stance) etc can parry non contact attacks. Does these non contact attacks refers to projectile only or both energy attacks?

I am being confused because in few fights against Dr. Doom I was usually able to parry him but I'm always unable to parry Red Magneto's attacks although both deals energy attacks.

There are 2 categories of attacks - contact and non contact. There are also 2 subcategories - physical and energy. Non contact hits are also commonly referred to as projectiles. Unless otherwise specified non contact attacks can't be parried regardless of whether they deal energy or physical damage e.g. IMIW, Havok, Prof X. All contact attacks can be parried. E.g. HT deals energy damage but because he still makes contact he can be parried. Same goes for Doom and Magneto.

If you can't parry Magneto it's probably because you're using a #metal champ

I hope what the two previous people said cleared things up but if not I’ve give a short run down of your questions. Attacks are separated into contact and non contact. Contact can be parried, non contact can’t. There are exceptions to this like the people you mentioned who can parry non contact hits. Normally projectiles refers to hits on specials. You can never stun opponents off of specials but you can still parry then. (This is where sunspot and guardian’s perfect block comes into play). The one thing I’m not certain on is if some basic attacks are considered “projectiles”. I’m pretty sure it’s just specials though. Energy hits that are contact can be parried like physical hits. Lastly the reason you can parry magneto is because of his ability accuracy reduction. AAR affects the likelihood that you will get the stun off of a parry. So can parry magneto because his hits are contact hits but if you’re fighting him with someone who’s #metal 70% of the time your parries won’t stun. I hope this helps.

All non-contact hits are considered projectiles, including basic attacks. Learned this the hard way trying to fight an awakened DD classic with Havok. Could barely get a hit in outside of stuns
