Possible to Still upgrade Gift?

Hello everyone,
This is a very simple question which I feel I already know the answer to.
I am very close to TB if I get lucky from some T5CC. So my question is whether it is possible to upgrade the gift? I think I recall saying it would be locked to your progression at the 25th, but it doesn’t hurt to ask. Can I:
- not claim the gift, get TB in the next 6 days and then claim?
- Claim the gift, get TB, claim upgraded gift?
- Just claim it now because it doesn’t matter because it won’t upgrade.
Apologies if the answer is obvious or has already been said, figured it couldn’t hurt to ask.
