Question regarding ranking up heroes

Hi! This is my first time posting. I wanted to know what is the best way to rank up champions. I have ranked up a 4 star Gwenpool to level 4 but it's rating is only 2368. I have seen 4 star champions with ratings over 3500. Am I doing something wrong?

What you see is "hero rating", and is affected by masteries. It's not something you should be worried about.

a) Gwenpool isn’t awakened.
b) said Gwenpool isn’t 4/40
c) you probably don’t have the best mastery set up either

Awakening is getting a duplicate I suppose?
But I didn't get the 4/40 part.

Awakening is getting a duplicate, yes.

So you see the rank 4/5 and level 3/40 in the top left corner of gwenpool’s info, underneath her health and attack? 4/40 means she’s a rank 4, level 40 champion. The highest a four star can be is rank 5, level 50, or as the community often types, 5/50.

1.never waste ur units on crystals,instead unlock masteries and buy revives.
2.play daily class rank up quests to rank up ur roster(collection of champs).
3.concentrate on the content(story quests) the most.
4.join a strong alliance.

Other people’s responses have pretty much covered everything but I’d like to stay masteries are a big part of champions pi (power index) and are very important while fighting too. You should have parry, cruelty, precision, and block proficiency maxed and dex unlocked. Those are just the basics (and I could be forgetting one or two) but there’s a lot more complexity in masteries that’s important to learn about.
