Auto-Fight in AW?!!

Just fought a mini in AW and the fight was taken completely out of my hands. I was holding block when my champ decided to charge, 2-hit, and retreat. (Thumbs off the screen by then). Champ then stood there not responding until the opponent attacked and I took a 5 hit combo, my champ throws an L2 (again with no input from me) it miraculously connects, stunning the opponent. My champ charges (while I watch) and the AI breaks out of the stun with half the timer left with an L1 for the KO. Then the connection icon comes up for about 30 seconds before the loss screen. Don’t even know where to start asking for answers.
