Sorcerer Supreme pre fight not working

In AW today was taking the Window of opportunity stun fight. Usually on this path i use sorcerer supreme. I use the pre fight to start in armour phase, this is important as I can then get my perfect block chance to line up with the stun immunity.
First fight the pre fight worked, it was a Yondu, pretty easy.
The next fight was Domino, I was sort of worried about this one but I figured it would be fine with the pre fight. Selected the armour phase, ended up starting in the fury phase.
Managed the fight but still, not great.
