Why does Aegon with Proxima Synergy not work on Combo Party node?

Just tried the combo party path on 6.3.3. with Aegon and Proxima synergy to keep the combo. But it doesn’t work and you lose your combo with one and die. DIE!!! Why does this synergy not work?
