It's a grey area. Some controllers have Bluetooth support and can be used natively with devices, and while this is legitimate to use even with MCOC, because the game isn't intended to work with controllers you may have performance issues, or notice that the functionality of the controller doesn't work correctly.
However, using a third party app to essentially "keybind" a controller for certain inputs is most likely against ToS.
I used this controller. No mapping, just plugged into the phone. The latency is kind of slow but it works and didn’t get me banned. As long as you map it by third party software and don’t change mcoc to respond to button presses, I’d imagine you would be fine Just putting the link in spoilers since it’s pretty long.
