Sp1 taking energy but not actually activating

I was farm revives in rol against ws and I noticed this with both archangel and dr voodoo while I was playing with them. I would hit sp1 to activate and it would drain my power act like the animation would begin and then I would get smashed by the opponent. I am using I phone 6s with the latest iOS and the latest version of Mcoc available. I will provide more info if I find it. Thank you for your time
