Been gone from the game for a little while. Came back recently but feel totally lost. Looking for ways to get better.

While you are doing that, concentrate too on doing the monthly Event Quests. Your roster should be enough to at least complete (maybe even explore) the Heroic and Master difficulties. This will provide you with needed rank up resources for your account.
Give priority to your 5* when ranking. Yes, 4* are and will still be useful given tour current state, but the truth of the matter is that later on you will outgrow 4*. It will take a while till you can get your first Rank 4 5*, but in the meantime you should be able to have a few as rank 3. A rank 3 5* is slightly better than a rank 5 4*. Two 5* you have ( Namely Netflix Daredevil and Ragnarok Hulk) are actually not bad starter 5* champs, they are both useful for the content at hand so take them to rank 3 them whenever u can. Your other 5* though, Iron Patriot, is sadly not very good. Use him for arena and such but dont rank him up. For 4* only take to rank 5 4* champs that are so incredibly good ( in a game changing kind of way) that it will take a while to overstay their usefulness . Which champs qualify as these? Well any champ that is considered a God or Beyond God Tier ( search in youtube for Seatin' and KT1 champ rankings). Just to name a few: Dr. Doom, Red Magneto, that Omega Red if you can dupe and Max Sig him, Captain America Infinity War if you dupe and max sig him, Warlock, Scarlet Witch, Human Torch, Nick Fury, Hyperion, Ghost & Quake ( these last two you need to study a d practice very how to use them before ranking them up) among others. At your current state in the game , I would only rank up 4* that are considered beyond god tier, if/whenever u get them.
Ultimately, your mid term goal is to achieve Uncollected title ( you do so by beating the Collector at Act 5, Chapter 2, Quest 6 ) which will be an account changing moment. In order to do so you'll need a handful of R4 4* and R3 5* for it to be somewhat achievable without spending too many units. It is also doable with rank 3 4* and rank 2 4*. Ut it'll be a little more challenging.
Last but not least: join an alliance of players that are around your same progression stage in the game. Concentrate on doing AQ ( Alliance Quests) as it will help you with getting needed rank up resources ( You'll get Glory, and with Glory you can purchase rank up items such as Tier 1 alpha cats, Tier 4 basic cats, Tier 4 class shards, etc.
Joining a good alliance which is active in AQs and AWs will help a lot. Glory points are very helpful for ranking materials. Adding for arenas, i also returned to the game after long time and i planned out some milestones for arenas.
- In the 3 star arena which uses 2 and 3 star champs, do the 80k milestone. It will give you at least the leaderboard eligibility.
- I do 60k milestone in summoner trials. It gives good number of battle chips and high chances of 26-45% leaderboard bracket.
- In the 4 star basic arena (uses 3 and 4 star champs), do till 150k. Again, it will give leaderboard eligibility. In the second weekly round of the arenas, you can do the 300k milestone as well, because it comes on weekends.
- In the 4 star featured arena (uses 4 and 5 star champs) do only first milestone, 75k.
- For the crystal splash arenas, do 100k milestone for both the arenas.
If you do all these, you will easily get 163 units, 18k battle chips, 96k gold and 19k PHC shards (9 crystals) solely from the milestone rewards. These will help in picking up your account, resetting and fixing masteries and progressing further.I calculated some more details for sources of units, for monthly basis. Here it is,
Also, refer to some guides for mastery setup. Greater Precision (max), greater cruelty (max), will power (max), recovery (max), block proficiency (max). perfect block (max), courage (max), parry (2 points), dex (one point - more points don't really give anything extra), limber (2 points for aw), pacify (2 points), petrify (2 points).
Among your champs, max out proxima, red hulk, gladiator hulk, magik, black widow, carnage, omega red (more useful when awakened), voodoo (useful when awakened), electro (heavy hitter but not very useful with newer content), yellow jacket (about to get a buff so hold onto leveling him until reviews of the buff come out).

Looking at your roster, your incursion tier would be 4 (sectors 4 and 5). You can do around 5 zones in sector 4 and 3 zones in sector 5 easily. That would give good number of artifacts. Also, do the first 3 milestones of the incursions. 1875 artifacts every 5 days, gives around 11k artifacts per month. With this you can get one 4 star crystal and a 3 star (if you want, but not really useful).
