Which 5* would you take to rank 5 first? None are awakened but I have awakening gem so can awaken any of them

    If you have Nick, awaken and rank CMM. If you don't, awaken and rank Guardian. That's just my opinion.

    Ditto. I would just add that it is worth using the gem on Guardian if you can take him up to 120 sig or so, otherwise you wont feel the difference that much.
