Questing team with synergy or not

First, sorry for the english spelling, I am danish.
So, I never been in an alliance before that do AW, and suddenly I find myself missing a lot of champs for questing. I am not that good, just became uncollected in January..but now I have to think about using champs in AW and AQ while trying to do the event quests, so my question is: Do you build your "regular quest team" with 5 great champs with no synergy, or do take your 3 favourite champs and 2 "bad champs" with great synergy?
