A community concept.

I've been working this angle for awhile and realize it may be worth a thread.

A standalone player is helpless in this game, it's a counter-productive model for kabam, and anyone hoping to run this gauntlet known as MCOC.

The oddity of it is the lack of community these forums produce. This is meant to be a constructive thread.

Random messages in game and in forums to promote community seem like a no-brainer but don't exist.

If players pay the paychecks, and the paycheck recipients are interested in creating more paychecks, why (in my own personal opinion) does there seem to be a huge disconnect?

It would seem conducive to be more community driven and receptive. Just a thought, curious to hear other opinions

Not exactly sure what you mean by random messages to promote community. They pretty much do that with every reply. They encourage people to respect each other and exchange ideas in a civil manner. However, people will take it where they take it.

I would have to understand more of what you're implying. You mean encouragement to reach out and find an Ally, or messages that encourage a sense of community in general? Guess it's a bit vague.

Fair enough, a game like this is built on community. When we interact with kabam and receive messages from them, at least from my perspective, community isn't on their radar.

    How so?

im confused, are your trolling? No disrespect, but with as many posts as you have and with as many posts I've seen today getting closed, flamed or locked. Is community such a bad concept? What's your stand or are you just having some chuckles?

No. I am not trolling. I'm asking how you feel that community is not on their radar. In terms of the Forum, the community is always on their radar. That's part of the purpose of the Forum, so that we can interact with them. The other part is so that we can interact with each other. In terms of the in-game messages, they're usually geared towards annoucements, or general knowledge. I'm asking how you feel community is not encouraged, and in what context you're suggesting they reach out.

Okay, so let's say there is a thread with 5200 views in the last 48 hours. People are asking for answers. There has been none, a good dozen responses have been about the disconnect between the kabam team and either no response or a response with a vague answer that never gets addressed. What's your angle? Give me an example of the community being on their radar

To your second point, when you get a message in the inbox that says, the contest isn't up to standards and you get some freebies, explain to me how this doesn't answer your question or why it no longer exists or why that continued response doesn't create a community with the kabam team by at least getting some sort of acknowledgement

That would have to have context. They encourage feedback and have no issues with constructive criticism. They can't offer information that has already been given, and they can't offer information when there is no more to give. They don't usually respond to every Thread or comment. If a Thread is constructive and within the rules of the Forum, it will stay open. When it becomes off-topic, or becomes a vent in general, it will most likely be closed. They're not likely going to respond to being called out indirectly on their responses. They value feedback, and they provide information when they can. If there is no more to give or if they've already given what they have and it is a repost of the same topics, it won't likely stay open. There are also rules to the Forum that they have to enforce. Community is encouraged. Any feedback is looked at, whether positive or not. They can't respond to everything.
Now, that's pretty much all I can point out without knowing exactly what you're referring to. There is protocol to the Forum. Community is encouraged, as long as it is constructive and adheres to the Forum Rules. However, asking for answers is not always a guarantee that there is anything to say, no matter how many people want to know. If there is more to say, they say it. If the Post is just a general complaint list, they still hear it. There's just not much constructive response to add to that. They are doing what they can to provide us information and encourage a safe space for the community.

So is this post about getting free stuff? Forgive me, I also don't really get the point of this post

Okay,...so if I just asked how kabam could create more community so it would be beneficial to everyone would that be more straightforward?
  • MicklownickMicklownick Member Posts: 315 ★★
Not sure why that's so complicated, but worth paying attention to.

They don't give compensation with every issue. Some do, some don't. It all depends on the issue and the scope of it. Giving compensation really has nothing to do with community.

Okay..I'll play this game, they haven't given compensation for anything in more months then I can remember, this wasn't about compensation, but I appreciate you running this thread into the ground when I feel like I was trying to promote a concept of having kabam doing a better job at creating community, thanks dude.

I understand difference in opinion, but the core of this thread was creating more community in MCOC. Point out my lack of delivery, go for it, but again explain to me how MCOC is focused on creating community and why I shouldn't bring it up
  • GroundedWisdomGroundedWisdom Member Posts: 36,947 ★★★★★
I never said you shouldn't bring it up. I asked for clarification.
  • MicklownickMicklownick Member Posts: 315 ★★
Your trolling me, sigh. So much for that thread

Remember everyone, if someone disagrees with you, just claim they are trolling and it instantly makes them wrong and you right, automatically winning any argument!

I am not trolling you. You mentioned the difficulty for the standalone Players, and expressed a need for random messages to foster a sense of community. I asked you to clarify because I felt it was a bit vague. Then you mentioned you felt the community wasn't on their radar. I asked how so. Then you mentioned a Thread not being responded to, which you asked me for feedback on, and I provided my thoughts. Then we talked about compensation. No one is trolling anyone. I'm trying to have a discussion, but the topics keep going all over the place.
