Specials not always connecting and inputs not registering correctly

Using one plus 8 pro on the latest update. When throwing specials it's not always connecting, halfway through a special the opposition I noticed was still moving freely and before the animation ends I'm being countered, literally no connection from the special attack on the opposition is being made (like hitting a ghost). This is happening on all areas of the game, also inputs aren't always registering, I press to block, hit, parry and none responsive, I swipe back to Dex and end up going forward towards the attacker.
