Opening t5 cc crystal before choosing from the selector

I am trying hard to become throne breaker and exploring 7.1 could possibly grant me this title (working my way through this as we speak). There is however a big but, this probably only happens if I can open my t5 cc crystal before choosing my class from the t5 cc selector.

Is there a way to achieve this, or are we still forced to first do the selector..?

Nah, selector first. What I would suggest is leave the last path alone and finish it only when you're at 75% of a T5CC. Focus on Variants, Act 6 Exploration, or the monthly Event Quests.
