AQ timeout 50% health loss seems unnecessarily punitive

While fighting a mini boss, I was able to maintain 92% health and got the enemy down to 12%. However, upon timeout I was brought down to 46% health. Some fights require you to bait specials to avoid excessive power gain. This can be very time consuming as having to dex in succession multiple times during a fight is necessary for power control. The act of penalizing an otherwise good fight: maintaining health, enemy power, well timed blocks, etc., is very unfair. I understand a health loss, but 50% is excessive - especially when the player is able to maintain so much health.
A suggestion: maybe base the percentage of health loss on total health lost/maintained, as not to be so significant when doing well in a fight. An alternative would be to lower the health loss percentage overall to something more reasonable like 30%.
