Economics of Champ Scarcity

I’ve been playing for about 7 or 8 months and may have noticed a trend. Correct me if I’m off base but does it not seem as though the top tier champs land in the top arena, months later in the basic arena. When they do finally land in the basic arena, like Archangel or Iceman the champ in the top arena is garbage which drives the minimum to get iceman looking to be 6-7 million points. Really seems like the champs needed to clear harder content are held at a vast distance. No one really needed Psylocke or Ironfist so they’re going cheap while the new beastly champs are going for astronomical points. What would be the point? Drive us to pay for units to buy featured hero crystals?

Eh... I’ll just keep crossing my fingers with those premium hero crystals lol.

While it does seem like that, it also helps make cheap pickups when there's a desirable feature / undesirable or old basic. You can easily build a roster going after low-medium cutoff basics repeatedly.
