Corvus Glaive true damage question

If Corvus has “true damage” then why do his armor breaks increase his damage? I’ve noticed for each armor break on the opponent his strikes do a bit more damage. But if he has true damage (ignores armor) this shouldn’t be the case right?

Armor Breaks simply Reduce enemy Resistance against attacks I believe

So I don’t think it increases your damage but it does increase the damage they take

True damage would reduce armour to practically zero I believe, so armour breaks would put it into negative resistance.Thats how I understand it but not entirely sure.
