This new arena is so bizzare that i dont even feel like playing anymore. How will ftp player like me clear hard contents if you chuck off the units kabam?? Please give us back the old format
Personally i am shocked to see no four star arena. Mid level intermediate players like us are totally screwed. This arena is for the ones who has a huge collection of six star champs at their disposal. There are so many people like me who does arena for units. I feel like we have been totally left out. By no means this arena is fair. Another reason to leave this game.
I totally agree. I was happy be able to grind for a 4 star basic but now it’s worthless because I have to grind more and more when we all work and don’t have too much time to grind just for a 4 star basic. I’d rather go back to the previous arena where people get screwed by bots in the 3 star arena and actually worth grinding 1.8mil for a 4 star basic you have already. I liked that one

The primary thing that Kabam monetizes is units. If they reduce the amount of free units that can be earned in the arenas (either from milestones or through battle chips), it will force players who need energy refills, revives, etc., to have to spend REAL WORLD MONEY on the game.
Hence, why the arenas were slanted to favor the whales and people who already are spending cash on the game. Keep those folks fed, fat, and happy while systematically squeezing the FTP players to the point they have to spend cash or risk not progressing.
I agree.. I myself spend money a lot but also Try to grind enough units when possible.. But this is just ridiculous, as if they want only whales to play this game and are least worried about FTP players..
with few recent changes/dev diary updates focusing just on making money, I dont feel like spending money on this game anymore..May be 5$ for units deal..
And all these changes are happening while Crashing, Screen freeze, Dropped Inputs and Gameplay basic bugs are ignored for few months..
I can't actually say cuz I don't generally do arena and I haven't even stepped foot in the new arenas, but what I can say is the numbers show that this is worse than it was before. The little amount of arena grind I may have done in the past was way better for the time and effort it would take me to even come close to the same amount of units. To the new arenas' credit, the rank reward system is probably more advantageous when we ignore bots. But in general, they need to do some fixing because I used to not have much of a problem getting my feet a little wet in the old arena grind. But now? I look at it and I just think, "how on earth could anyone possibly fathom hitting all the milestones." Barely anyone has the right rosters to pull such feats off. So yeah. This isn't great.
More rounds to max out milestones for practically the same amount of units, higher cut-off points for upper rank rewards, Grandmaster shards will mostly just be better iso yield than PHCs. Sigh.
I don't like it. U stuck my 4*s in an arena with 1*s, then made it take way more points to beat the milestones. Not only that, but instead of playing for a particular champ, now I'm playing for a particular star rating with a random champ. And Kabam has a really crappy record with random champs they give me. So now it takes way longer to beat the milestones, & there is a very high probability of ending up with a crappy champ anyway. So I will prolly hardly play arenas anymore, & I absolutely won't bother to beat one as long as the new format remains. I used to beat them all the time when it was characters I wanted. But, for whatever reason Kabam is taking all the player choice out of the game, so I prolly won't actually be playing much longer anyway. The only reason I dug it so much before is that unlike the old non online consoles, we had plenty of control over the game & how we wanted to play it. Obviously Kabam has a problem with us making our own decisions. And I have a pretty severe problem with that. There r a lot of champs I don't want on my roster no matter how much it slows my progression. I'm not playing it for progression. I was playing it cuz I liked to play. But if they r gonna take all our control except the actual fighting away, I think I will just play Mortal Kombat. Y'all can treat someone else like children, thank u.
Also, having read the other comments & realized how much this a play for more cash, I feel I should let y'all know that I am giving u like maybe a week to switch back, or I am just gonna uninstall. Prolly forever. I already tried & got rid of Realm because it was utterly stupid. As soon as I finish this, I am uninstalling Puzzle Quest because it is utterly ****, & y'all's new changes r putting u in the same class. Pretty soon the only Marvel game I will play will be Strike Force, which I am about to reinstall. That is if they haven't been getting dumb like y'all r right now while I have been gone. Just wanted to let u know. U only want obedient whales, I ain't one. I'm more of a broke shark.

Lol, so many ftp players throw the word whale around. You don't have to be a whale to have a good roster. You have to just be patient and play the game. Get good, complete the content. I'm not a whale, but have been playing daily for 4+ years. And I have a really nice account because of it. How long have you been playing? Also, most actual whales don't grind arena, that's like half the point of being a whale. It's fine to air grievances. For sure, I'm just getting tired of reading "you need to spend to progress" everywhere. It's just not true.

I haven't missed getting a new featured 3* Champion EVERY week (even when it took around 1.4-1.5M to get a 3*) since July 2019
That is clearly over if these changes aren't reversed or FIXED because right now, the Arena is HOT GARBAGE
I'll NEVER spend another penny on this game and I might end up quitting over this... NOT kidding
This is actually a normal match for fight 11 in any arena higher than 4*. Fights 11-15 are the toughest ones. The best strategy is to use your absolute best champions for these 5 series. 11-15 I'm not sure what your roster is, but that's what you have to try to do. Save your best champs for those fights. It's always been that way as part of how to obtain a streak.
Fights 1-10 anyone Fights 11-15 your best champs Fights 16-20 minimum rank (used to be 5/50 or 3/45 when I did this, but it's probably 4/55 or 6/1 now) Fights 21 and beyond is the "infinite streak" (minimum team PI required)
Note: a long time ago when my roster wasn't as developed, I used to have to wait for cooldown sometimes to accomplish this.
What i find worst is 3 star was easy units with boosts 4 star 135 units for 1.5 min not too hard to get get most milestones on 5 star basic and 6 mil on featured now its 2.15 mil for 140 units with 4 stars and they've made it only worth doing 1 6 star arena due to the reward ramp it
I used arenas to build my stable of champs and sometimes to gain one I didn’t have such as the Immortal Hulk before the change. With the new system I’m screwed.

Spoken like someone who has a massive 6 Star roster. I used to be able to consistently rack up points with my 5 stars, but now without a massive 6 star roster I'm not going to be able to make it past fight 11. Constantly having to reset it just to use my 5 stars to get fewer rewards is not going to help.
And that's the point, they've basically taken away the lower arenas that people used to try to get resources and fill out their rosters so they could progress and now that's gone.

Nope. This is not a pro-player change. Much more grindy, milestones are too high, and it appears that deathmatches are more common.
Here's an idea I have though for kabam. Get rid of this completely archaic design of having a streak multiplier. Just remove the 3x multiplier, reduce milestones by 3x (probably reduce by 4x or 5x though because these milestones are unreachable for so many players), and then just set the enemy teams to always be similar PI to yours. This will help a couple things: 1) Gives newer uncollected players a better chance at reaching milestones as they're building a roster since this removes the need to reach an infinity streak. 2) Most importantly, this removes death squads and allows players to use ALL of their 4* and up champions, rather than being limited to maxed 4*s, 5* r2-r5, and 6*s once you've reached your infinity streak.
Personally, I never found the multiplier or infinity streak to be interesting game design. It's simplistic, uninteresting, and just makes arena kind of annoying for the first 15 fights and then it limits the champions you can use once you reach the infinity streak. I want to be able to use all of my champions if I'm grinding arena. I don't get to use my 5* r1 champions after the infinity streak since it's an auto-deathsquad when you fall below around 15k total PI. This also gives players more opportunity for trying out a 5* champion that they just got and aren't sure if they want to rank up. I have dozens of 5* r1 champions that I just never get to use because of this archaic arena design. Also, what's even the point of making fights 5 through 15 difficult if you're then just going to make them easy after 15 anyways.
Another idea is to reduce these cooldown timers on champions. It's something like 9 hours for a 6* without alliance help. Just reduce that (along with the 5* cooldown timer) so I can use my 6*s more often, so I can get more points, so that I can reach some of these higher milestones. This makes more milestones accessible for players who don't have extensive 6* rosters since they get to use their 5*s and 6*s more often.
Kabam also REALLY needs to crack down on arena bots. With the change from 5 arenas to 3, those bots will only be more concentrated. Bot users are also going to be much more motivated now that they're competing for 6* champions.

Most people voting no do not remember the heyday of arenas. Your whole alliance grinding for a black widow or stark spidy. That's what arenas should be and I can possibly see these bringing some of that back. Imagine a basic 6* Doom or Aegon arena?
I like the 6* ones but probably need one more below it. I realize kabaam doesn't want it turning into a unit grab though.

What if you removed the "basic hero" and let the 20 sigs and iso come with the arena champs?
