Advanced vs expert tier rewards

I understand that there apparently still isn’t any explanation of what happened, but what are we supposed to do with these rewards?

I want my expert tier rewards, not these much lower quality rewards in advanced tier. Also are we not supposed to open these rewards? I know some people have but don’t want to get accused of taking double rewards.

Any basic info besides just “hey we know this happened” would be useful.

More than a few have tried to get more information. I PMd Zibiit about two hours ago, but no response. I’m assuming the safest thing to do is not claim and not open. Otherwise I don’t know what to tell you.
