Platinumpool Card Question

I remember picking all the platinumpool cards but 1 during that side quest he was in. I dunno why I didnt go for it all, maybe I missed a calculation. Currently in my inventory it shows that I have just 1, the head card.
- Does it translate what I'm missing to obtain the champ or it's actually what I have and need the other 4 parts?
- In the featured store right now, there's an incursion offer going for a platinumpool card. If I pick up just the part I am missing will it work to complete the puzzle and obtain the champ? If not, what happened to all the pieces I pickup during the side quest?
- Lastly, what is the use of all these excess artifats we have in our inventory from the various side quests?
