Incursions issue: the Hack with Incinerate

Hi team
I played incurions section 8 yesterday. I chose the Incinerate hack where my Medium's would allow me to incinerate. but it wasn't working at all. I recorded a video (may have deleted) and also tried "testing" this issue for 4 fights until I realized it wasn't working
