SP3 does no damage on EQ Chapter 1 Quest 2

Sometimes (not every time) in EQ Chapter 1 Quest 2, when I throw an SP3, it will do no damage. I don't see anything in the node descriptions about this. This is frustrating when using champs like Magneto, ST, and Havok (has happened to me with each of them, against different defenders). https://youtu.be/94_keDTG86o
