Really depends on what you class as mid-tier.

For me it is Nebula. She has so much potential with the shock charge damage, combined with immunities, but the time it takes to increase charges is too long. I can never find a situation in which I can increase her charges without taking block damage.

For some strange reason, it's as if the AI always comes into the fight mega-aggressive when I'm using Nebula, so holding block is a death wish.

Honestly yea, he's got a pretty solid base.
3 immunities (4 with purgatory) and solid utility, if they make his sp1 imprisonment not eat persistent charges and increase his damage he'd be much better

4-5 if you count AAR immune. Yeah if 90% of his synergies were included in his kit and he got a bit more attack, he would be very solid. I’d also want the soul imprison to not be tied to PCs like you said and the L3 to have utility after the initial usage

Groot is underrated because he actually has the most potent bleed immunity. So i would have to put him as beyond quake/ghost tier to compensate for him being underrated

But in all seriousness bishop. Mutant blade and some great special damage, but perhaps a bit impractical. Its a toss up between him and civil warrior for me.

The essence of “meh” is MODOK, has such an insane kit and not too noodley but he’s just so meh
All he would probably need is a lil more attack and block proficiency. He was my 1st maxed 4 star, and I'm still happy using him.

I think he maybe needs a little more love than that, but he's among my most wanted buffs. I love using him (his heavy is maybe the most satisfying in the game, tied with Doom's) and he slots in so nicely among so many of the champs I also love to use. I would be over the moon if he was buffed.
