Fight start issue/wasted units

In the last 3 days of AQ I have revived and/or bought health potions to add to my champ, only to have the next fight not start. I end up losing half the health I just spent units on. This has happened on mobile data and my home wifi, so it's not a signal issue. This only seems to happen after I put health potions on my champ.
