Questions regarding corvus glaive

I already have an R5 corvus. Just recently got a six star. I don’t run suicides. So I don’t actually end up using him in monthly EQ due to the restrictions of buffs. So would it be worth to take the six star to R2?
Also M-L-M and SP-2 is the general technique I use. Is there any other way to use him?

    If you have a rank 5 there’s not much point taking him to rank 2 unless you plan to rank 3 him

    At this point the only option I have for R3 apart from him is CMM Unduped

    ML combos allow you to use two sp2s before glaive charges expire.
