Dormammu Buff Idea

Dormammu is a funny champ. He has a great kit for power control, let down by his abysmal noodle-tier damage. Despite this, he is somehow a really annoying defender. Therefore, I tried to beef up his general damage while keeping his degeneration damage more preventable. It should hit a lot harder in buff-heavy fights but an attacker should be able to work around it (especially with a science champion).

I tried to reimagine his kit in a way that allows you to get a huge benefit from keeping the dark energy and soul bond charges up for as long as possible, while at the same time having a worthwhile payoff when using a heavy attack to cleanse those charges. As long as you keep the dark energy up, you gain energy resistance and a bonus to light attacks among other things. Meanwhile, you can cancel soul bond countdown early for some regen or let it run close to it's course in order to activate a passive heavy-stun to easier land its massive damage. If you manage to land the heavy attack without utilizing his passive stun, you can gain both the regen and his damage potential.


Signature Ability - Soul Leech

Buffs on the opponent have 7% reduced duration for each Dark Energy Charge on Dormammu. Every time an opponent’s Buff expires naturally, Dormammu has a 5% chance per Dark Energy Charge to turn them into an indefinite Faltine Buff on the opponent with no effect.

At 10 Dark Energy Charges, any Faltine Buffs on the opponent are given a single-second duration and Dormammu has a 100% chance to Degenerate the opponent every time a Buff expires or is Nullified on them, dealing 3500 Direct Damage over 4 seconds.

When fighting Science champions, Degeneration effects have 65% reduced potency and no Faltine Buffs can be placed. Against Cosmic champions, Dormammu instead has a 10% chance per Dark Energy Charge to turn expiring Buffs into Faltine Buffs.

Passive

As a being of pure mystical energy, Dormammu is immune to all known poisons of the Battlerealm.

Dormammu lacks blood and is therefore immune to Bleed effects.

Dark Energy Charges - Max 10

Dark Energy Charges are gained every time your opponent’s Power level goes down. 2 charges are gained for every Bar of Power they use during a Special Attack while 1 charge is gained every time Dormammu Power Drains them below a Power Threshold.

Using a Heavy Attack cleanses all Dark Energy. Doing so places a Fate Seal on the opponent for 1 second. The Fate Seal’s duration is affected by the number of Dark Energy Charges active when the Heavy Attack is used.

While Fate Sealed, the opponent can’t gain any Buffs and Dormammu can’t gain any Dark Energy Charges.

Dark Energy

As Dormammu’s Dark Energy grows, he becomes more powerful. Each Charge gives the following stacking bonuses:

* 430 Energy Resistance.
* 10% increased Critical Rating when the opponent is suffering from a Degeneration effect.
* Light Attacks deal an extra 170 Direct Damage.
* 0,8 second Fate Seal duration.
* Any Debuff that expires off Dormammu has a 2,5% chance to fuel his Soul Bond, giving him 1 Charge unless he is fighting a Science champion.

When fighting Science champions, their Debuffs instead have an equivalent chance to remove either a Soul Bond or Dark Energy Charge when they are applied.

Soul Bond Charges - Max 12

Soul Bond is automatically applied to the opponent at the beginning of the fight. It is not affected by Ability Accuracy Modification. Gain 3 Charges for each Buff that expires and 1 Charge for each Buff Nullified on the opponent.

When the Charges reach 12, the next combo-ending Medium attack activates a countdown where the Soul Bond Charges fall off at a rate of 1 every 1,25 seconds. Max duration is 15 seconds.

Every Charge removed this way is turned into an inactive Regeneration Buff that heals Dormammu for 1,5% of his Missing Health. The Buff activates by ending the countdown with a Heavy Attack.

Additionally, all combo-ending Medium and Special Attacks triggered during this countdown gain bonus Imbued effects in addition to their standard ones.

Heavy Attacks

Landing a Heavy Attack during the Soul Bond countdown automatically sets the Soul Bond Charges to 0 before dealing 1350 Direct Damage per Soul Bond Charge that has fallen off. If 8 or more Charges have fallen off, charging the Heavy Attack passively Stuns the opponent for 0,6 seconds. The passive Stun does not activate if the opponent is already Stunned when Dormammu begins charging his Heavy Attack.

All paused Regeneration Buffs are removed from Dormammu if he triggers a passive Stun.

When Knocked Down

When Dormammu is knocked down by a Heavy or Special Attack, he can no longer gain any Dark Energy or Soul Bond Charges for 9 seconds. If either Fate Seal or the Soul Bond Countdown is active, they are immediately canceled with no further effect.

Finish a Combo with a Medium Attack

The opponent doesn’t gain any Power from this Hit.

Depletes up to 7,5% of the opponent’s Max Power.

Imbued: Instantly reverses any Power Gain effects on the opponent by 100% for 3 seconds.

Special Attack 1

100% chance to Nullify 1 positive status effect from your opponent.

Imbued: Nullify all positive status effects from your opponent. If the opponent is Fate Sealed, pause it for 3 seconds while allowing Dormammu to start earning Dark Energy Charges again. Each Fate Seal can only be paused once.

Special Attack 2

100% chance to Power Lock, severing the opponent’s flow of Power for 9 seconds.

Imbued: Power Burn 20% of the target’s Max Power per hit, doing Direct Damage equal to 450% of the Power Drained from the opponent by this attack.

Special Attack 3

Gain a Dimensional Link causing Dormammu to continually siphon Health and Power from the opponent’s Buffs over 20 seconds.

10% Power is stolen from Power Gain Buffs per Dark Energy Charge at the time of activation.

10% Health is stolen from Regeneration Buffs per Soul Bond Charge at the time of activation.

Imbued: Gain an Empowered Dimensional Link Buff that, in addition to the effects of the standard Dimensional Link, also reverses the effects of the opponent’s Power Gain and Regeneration Buffs by 100%.

Development Hell

Mojo - Mojo can't lose more than 1 million Subscribers against the same opponent and does not lose any Subscribers when fighting on the last node of a Quest.
Dormammu - The Dark Energy reduction of Buff duration is increased to 9% per Charge.

No More Sorcerors

Mordo, Scarlet Witch, Dormammu - When a Mystic opponent is suffering from either a Poison or Degeneration effect, Mordo, Scarlet Witch and Dormammu's Special Attacks become Unblockable and have a 33% chance to inflict another Degeneration effect for each Bar of Power used in the attack.

    That is a nice Buff, but one question, should one of Dormammu's abilities is where his attacks deal Energy Damage instead of Physical?
