I just have one question for Kabam and that's ..

RookiieRookiie Member Posts: 4,821 ★★★★★
Why?

I was literally just checking the deal out, no intention to buy.

I saw the 500 6-star shards per day and thought to myself: alright that's quite good.

Next a whole 6-star: Wow but, considering the pool that's not actually great (I pulled Loki, first time dupe).

Then I saw the 10 nexus Cavs: OMG THOSE ARE JUICY I HAVE TO GET THIS.

Kabam we thought you updated those crystals a year ago. Why would you go back and put the old drop rates in there? Not cool. I'm glad I stayed away from July 4th, but I wish I stayed away here too. #shadybusiness

Chances are that it was a mistake. Email support to let them know, I did it already but the more people email the better the chance of a response will be.

I’d like to give them the benefit of the doubt too but somehow I don’t think this was a mistake.

I’d have purchased that offer if the cavs had the up to date drop rates

It'd be very odd if it wasn't a mistake

On the one hand, it doesn't make any sense to give Thronebreakers the old drop rates

On the other, Kabam might have put in the old drop rates because they felt we were getting enough already (which is sad but may be true)
I understand that line of thinking, but it just seems so strange to have crystals that have drop rates that haven't been in the game for over a year now in a deal for Endgame players. If they really thought that Nexus Cavs were too good for this deal with the current drop rates, they would have not included them and made them regular cavs since they would have to know that the backlash over a bait-and-switch situation like this would prevent people from buying the deal out of anger.

And although this sounds perfectly logical, they've been known for pulling bait-and-switch tactics in the past. Most recently when they included 5-star heroes in a crystal designed for 6-stars.
That one was also an error, assuming you are referring to when UC (or was it Cav?) players got the ingame mail offer saying that it was a 3K six star crystal (don't remember if it was a dual class one or not) instead of the 1.5K 5 star crystal, but the actual deal was 1,5K for the five star instead of the 3K for the six star. In that case, people got what they paid for at least, it's not like they spent 3K for a five star.

No no, it was the Black Widow bundle. A red, 6-star crystal form which contained a pool of 5 and 6-star champions. 80% chance to pull a 5-star, 20% for the 6-star.

    That's not a Bait-and-Switch. That's the new Legendary.

Yes but I don't recall there being any announcement about a new shape / form of a legendary crystal. So many people here were taken by surprise and the lack of information / communication at the right time made it look like a Bait-and-Switch.
Again, forgive me if I don't have all the facts. I strictly don't recall seeing any announcements of the sort.

Do they need an official announcement to put out an Offer? The information was included with it.

I am not sure. You're right, they're safeguarding themselves with the information. However on the other hand, you can forgive people for assuming that the crystal was ONLY going to contain 6-stars.
Eventually, in the game, you begin to take things for granted. Like a red crystal is a 5-star basic crystal. If one day, you find yourself pulling a 4-star from the red crystal, well, you're going to ask questions.

I always read the Email that comes with Offers. It's probably best to do that. The information is in there.

I suppose so. I can't recall the Mythic email in particular but I'm not going to get hung up on that. If they specified, good. That's the right thing to do.
Back to the topic at hand, nothing of the sort was specified in the email. Would have been prudent to do so. I hope this is an error, and that it will be rectified / clarified soon.

Ah, that wasn't a bait and switch either, that was the new crystal. It was mistake to make it look like a six star crystal though.

I hate to side with kabam on stuff like this but the drop rates unless I'm mistaken were on regular Cavs not nexus ones
